Visit Southern Colombia and the mythical area of San Agustin. Explore the monuments and sculptures in the San Agustin Archaeological park and discover some of Colombia’s history and culture as you delve into this region. Finish up the trip with a tour of Tierradentro.

  1. Day 1 San Agustin Archaeological Park

    Spend today exploring San Agustin Archaeological Park. Today you will start off with a walk through the park to find the impressive statues and sacred tombs among beautiful natural scenery of forest and tropical flowers. Visit the main sites of Bosque de las Estatuas,Mesitas A, B, C, and Alto del Lavapatas. In the afternoon you will go for a walk or horseback ride to la Chaquira, a special place with a beautiful view of the canyon of the Magdalena River.

  2. Day 2 Magdalena & Alto del Idolo

    Today you will have the chance to discover even more of the area. Your tour will begin with a stop at the Estrecho del Magdalena, the small village of Obando and a sugarcane farm producing Colombia’s famous panela. You will then have lunch in Isnos and in the afternoon a visit to the archaeological sites of Alto de Piedras and Alto del Idolo and the waterfall of Mortino.

  3. Day 3 San Agustin to Tierradentro

    An early start this morning as you depart for Tierradentro. Upon arrival stretch your legs with a hike along the river to admire some amazing views of the entire region and visit archaeological tombs. Relax this evening.

  4. Day 4 Tierradentro

    Tierradentro is one of Colombia’s most important archaelogical sites and is a slightly more difficult destination to access. The circular ecologocial walk to the underround tombs is a stunning walk to enjoy in the beautiful weather that this region offers. Spend the day in this off the beaten path location exploring all of the major highlights with your knowledgable guide.
